Music:

  • Fastball “The Way” All The Pain Money Can Buy (Hollywood) 1998
  • Garageland “Fingerpops” Last Exit to Garageland (Flying Nun) 1996
  • The Hooters “And We Danced” Nervous Night (Columbia) 1985

Notes:

More perfect pop. Perfect pop comes in many forms, ya know, from rock and roll to swinging soul. Perfect pop, ah…

The Hooters played two songs at the U.S. Live Aid concert, “And We Danced” and “All You Zombies,” apparently Bob Geldof was none too happy about them being included. What a guy. The Hooters major label debut, Nervous Night, was a multi-platinum smash, selling well over two million copies. The band reunited and are still actively playing shows, many in Europe.

Here’s “Fingerpops” in full:

This site has a bunch of videos and some basic info on Garageland.

What can you say ’bout Fastball that hasn’t already been said? It’s a damn good question. We don’t really know, but we do know that here’s a picture of the band, with one of the guys leaning on a forklift!
