Music:

  • Beach Boys “Good Vibrations” Capitol Records single, 1966
  • Pavement “Summer Babe (Winter Version)” Slanted and Enchanted (Matador) 1992
  • Wilco “Summer Teeth” Summerteeth (Reprise) 1999
  • The Allman Brothers Band “Melissa” Eat A Peach (Capricorn) 1972

Notes:

This is Greg Wilson‘s first appearance on Rockin’ the Suburbs. The dude is awesome. That’s from the Tiki/Sports/Fireball bar over there.

For such an important record, affordable original copies of “Good Vibrations” can be had for not all that much money , considering. Jim should really have one for the jukebox, dontcha think?

The original excerpt was a little long, so here it is in full:

Summer is here! Maybe not by the celestial calendar but certainly by the musical calendar. It’s warm outside, so it’s time to listen to breezy, fun pop. This week, Jim and Patrick hang out by friend Greg Wilson’s pool and talk about music that should be the soundtrack to your summer. Plus, a little tribute to Gregg Allman. Rest in power.
