All songs in this episode by The Byrds off of their album Sweetheart of the Rodeo, released on Columbia in 1968.

  • “The Christian Life”

Notes:

Today, after a bit of a lull period, we celebrate an album anniversary.

A little over fifty years, The Byrds released an absolutely bizarre album titled Sweetheart of the Rodeo. The country-rock album introduced member Gram Parsons, who brought his pianist skills to the group.

The album was critically acclaimed upon its release in 1968, despite alienating many of the band’s fans due to the country-rock style that the album contained.
