Episode 222: Echo Park Jimmy on Tom Petty

November 17, 2017

  • Alvin and the Chipmunks “Refugee” Chipmunk Punk (Excelsior) 1980
  • Tom Petty “Yer So Bad” Full Moon Fever (MCA Records) 1989

We figured the best way to end this busy week was to include a voicemail from Echo Park Jimmy! He chimes in his thoughts on rocker Tom Petty after his sudden passing in October. We also did not expect to play an Alvin and the Chipmunks cover on the show either. Hey, there’s a first time for everything right?

FUN FACT: Alvin and the Chipmunks are well known for the many, many covers that they perform of songs. From 1959-2012 Simon, Theodore and Alvin have racked up a total of five Grammy’s, three Kid’s Choice Awards, an AMA and a Golden Reel Award.
