Music:

All music in this episode by Lance Haywood from the 1959 LP Lance Haywood At The Half Moon Hotel, Montego Bay, released on Island Records.

  • “Street Where You Live”
  • “Free Lance”

Notes:

Our very own Jim Lenahan suggests today’s record label deep-dive on Island Records. After it’s founding in 1959, it would go to become one of the most well-known and influential labels of all time. But before signing such artists as Bob Marley, Brian Eno and PJ Harvey… there was Lance Haywood and his group.

For your viewing pleasure…

Listen to this legendary LP for yourselves!
