Episode 128: Perfect Pop – Michael Jackson, The Mamas & the Papas

July 7 , 2017

  • Michael Jackson “Billie Jean” Thriller (Columbia) 1984
  • The Mamas and the Papas “California Dreamin'” ABC/Dunhill single, 1965
  • Phantom Planet “California” The Guest (Epic) 2001

This is Bud Verge’s 7th appearance on Rockin’ the Suburbs (and that’s actually on mic, because we talk about him a lot and he’s always contributing in one way or another – one of the many reasons we love him. And he brought tasty beer.)

This is Brett Motiff’s 4th appearance on RTS. He was a delightful guest to have on Deck-Zima-Running-Perfect Pop Week.

Here’s the other time MJ got nominated in the Perfect Pop pantheon.

“California Dreamin'” reached number four on the U.S. charts. “Monday, Monday” was the Mamas and Papas only #1 hit.

After these additions, have a glance at the Official Rockin’ the Suburbs Perfect Pop Pantheon right here.

Oh, just admit it. You watched it.
