In a case of déjà vu, Warren Zevon is dropped by his label Giant after the release of 1995’s Mutineer.

During the nearly five-year period when Zevon didn’t put out a record, that was when Hunter Bennett’s interest in the singer-songwriter started to peak. It was also the period of time that Zevon started coming to terms with death.
